Enviroblinds takes further steps to halve its carbon footprint

There is no Planet B: join Enviroblinds in our pledge to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030

We continue our mission to halve our carbon footprint by 2030 and have implemented the following actions to work towards this goal.

PILLAR 1: REDUCE YOUR OWN EMISSIONS

  • Creation of an Environmental, Social and Governance company pension fund otherwise known an an ESG.

The campaign video “Oblivia Coalmine” brilliantly highlights the role of pension funds in fossil fuel projects.

Launched ahead of COP28 in the UAE, Colman appears in the film for Richard Curtis’s Make My Money Matter Campaign.

The advert encourages people to tell their pension schemes to remove their investments in fossil fuel projects.

£88 billion of UK pension money is currently being invested in oil and gas companies according to analysis by Make My Money Matter.

  • 2. Purchase of an electric company pool car with a grant from LOCASE funding accessed with support from Clean Growth UK.

PILLAR 2: REDUCE YOUR VALUE CHAIN EMISSIONS

We have consulted and shared the new supplier guide by the Exponential Roadmap initiative to engage with our suppliers and invite them to join us in our mission to halve our carbon footprint by 2030.  We have encouraged them to share their commitment, set a public target and disclose their progress to us and the public.

Pillar 2 which in our case relates to manufacturing is the most challenging for us as a business. We are pleased to have made a start and will report back on our progress.

CLIMATE SOLUTIONS

The SME Climate Hub reporting includes a new section called Climate Solutions which asks members to list details of any low carbon products or services offered.

Enviroblinds’ external blinds and shading systems are all low carbon solutions, passively reducing overheating by up to 90%. Our retractable shading devices passively reduce overheating in the summer whilst allowing beneficial solar gain in the winter months. For every 1 degree reduction in the internal temperature, the cooling energy consumption is reduced by between 5 and 10%.

We will make use of the new user friendly guides by the SME climate hub to make further progress and will keep you posted.

Best wishes
